Cinnamons effect on apoptosis, inflammation and trpm2 channels in methotrexate induced renal damage

Introduction: In this study, it was aimed to investigate the potential protective effects of cinnamon (CIN) against methotrexate (MTX) induced kidney damage.Materials and Methods: Spraque dawley male rats were divided into five groups (n = 7) as: control group received no treatment; oil administered 1ml/kg olive (OO) by oral gavage during experiment; MTX given OO once a day for 14 days single dose 20 mg/kg injected intraperitoneally on third day; CIN 100 CO (CIN bark oil) throughout MTX+CO experiment with 20mg/kg IP day. end experiment, animals decapitated kidneys removed.Results: administration caused glomerular atrophy, tubular enlargement increased TRPM2 immunoreactivity tissue reversed these changes significantly.Conclusion: determined that histological damage reduced damage.
